MENU’s privacy statement

If you shop at MENU in a physical store or in our online store, contact us or visit our website, we can process information about you. We will process such information in accordance with privacy laws and other relevant laws, such as the Accounting Act. In the privacy statement, you will find information about what personal information is collected, why it is collected, what it is used for, what legal basis there is and what rights you have as registered with us.

According to the privacy legislation, MENY AS is responsible for processing services described here. MENU is a Trump partner
As a Trump member, you save the Trump bonus when you shop in our physical stores and in the online store. For this, Trump and MENU must exchange information. For marketing and communication from MENU, MENU and Trump have joint processing responsibility. Read more in section 1 below.

Trade in physical store
When you shop in a physical store and pay by card, we must process your card information to implement the purchase agreement. If you are a Trump member, we process information about your membership. Read more in section 2 below.

Private purchase in MENU Online store
MENU Online store is an offer for private individuals who want to shop for groceries online. You can act as a Trump member or as a guest. Read more in section 3 below.

Online shopping for business
Menu Online shopping for companies is an offer for private individuals who often shop for groceries on behalf of a company or organization. Read more in section 4 below.

MENU Handleapp
If you download the MENU Shopping App, you can shop in the MENU Online Store and build shopping lists, in the same way as on meny.no. Read more in section 5 below.

Google Assistant – MENU Assistant
MENU offers you, as a Trump member, a voice-controlled personal assistant (the MENU Assistant) using Google Assistant. The purpose is to facilitate the construction of a shopping list through voice instructions. This is the same shopping list that you have access to on meny.no and in the MENU Shopping app. Read more in section 6 below.

At meny.no you get information, access to our online store services and a form for registering inquiries. You can log in with Trump. Read more in section 7 below.

Social media – Facebook and Instagram
MENU is active on social media. Read more in section 8 below.

Who provides MENU personal information to
MENU can deliver personal information to other data controllers if the legal basis is present. Read more in section 9 below.

Who processes personal data on behalf of MENU
We use data processors who process personal data on our behalf. The processing is regulated in data processor agreements. Read more in section 10 below.

Your rights
You have rights to your personal information in accordance with privacy legislation. Read more in section 11 below.

Complaints
You can complain about the processing of personal data to MENU. You can also complain to Trump regarding the Trump membership. Read more in section 12 below.

Changes
Changes in treatments will be described in the privacy statement, available on meny.no and through the MENU Shopping App.

MENU is a Trump partner

To fulfill the Trump bonus agreement, Trump must provide an identifier unique to your MENU membership so that you can be recognized as a member, and MENU in turn must provide information about the purchase to Trump. MENU and Trump each have an independent processing responsibility for the information provided. Feel free to read more about Trump’s terms and privacy statement.

For marketing in newsletters from MENU, on MENU’s website and in MENU Handleapp, Trump and MENU have joint processing responsibilities. MENU does not have access to information about the individual member, but determines the content, time and criteria of the marketing, while Trump is responsible for the information itself and for the treatment basis being in order. Note:

Newsletters by e-mail and / or SMS from MENU, in the role of Trump partner, require your consent. You can always change this as logged in at meny.no or trumf.no.
If you have agreed to communication from us through other media such as Facebook, Instagram, vg.no, your e-mail address can be compiled against customer lists in these media to identify you and give you relevant ads, bonus campaigns and information. Examples of other media are online newspapers such as VG / Aftenposten / Dagbladet / local newspapers, Google or Facebook. You can withdraw your consent at any time on trumf.no or meny.no.
At meny.no you can log in with Trump. To protect your information, a two-step login is used. If you have logged in, Trump shows you bonus balance, profile and MENU-related information through technical interfaces. MENU can customize the other content of the website in accordance with your Trump settings.
If you have downloaded the MENU Shopping App, you can log in with Trump. Here too, MENU can customize content according to your Trump settings.

2. Trade in a physical store
We use payment solutions that meet current security requirements (PCI-DSS certification). The store does not see your card information, other than when manual card payment solutions must exceptionally be used. This can happen when payment solutions do not work.

We check if the card you use is linked to a Trump membership in order to fulfill the membership agreement for Trump bonus. If you are a member, Trump provides a unique member identifier together with information about relevant benefits of membership. The Trump member identifier is stored on the purchase transaction, which MENU hands out to Trump so that you get your Trump bonus.

MENU stores purchase transactions for five years as required by the Accounting Act.

From time to time we may have competitions / prizes in the store, for example by noting your name and telephone number on the receipt. The information will only be used to draw a winner, and will be shredded after the competition is over. The name of the winner will be saved for documentation.

In order for you to be able to buy age-specific goods, such as alcohol and tobacco, in our self-service boxes, we use a solution for checking age based on fingerprints. We store a unique token, but not the fingerprint itself, and it is not possible to recreate the fingerprint from stored information. The solution has been processed both in the Norwegian Data Protection Authority and in the Privacy Board, and has been defined as not processing personal data. Private purchase in MENU Online store
a. The purpose of the processing of personal data

MENU Online store is available via meny.no or MENU Handleapp. In order to receive orders and deliver goods, MENU must process information about you. MENU also processes personal data to meet statutory requirements.

MENU can use collected information in analysis, based on a legitimate interest in understanding customer needs, optimizing store operations, improving the user experience, and preventing abuse and errors.

b. What information is collected

When you act as a Trump member, we process already registered information about you; your name, address, e-mail address and mobile phone number. If you are not a Trump member, this is information you must provide when ordering. This information is linked to the order in the MENU Online Store. In addition, the delivery time, delivery method and amount are stored for each order.

The final receipt is also saved.

Upon home delivery or delivery of goods in a store, the recipient’s signature is stored. If you have age-specific items in the order, the performed check is stored. For alcohol, the age of the recipient is stored, and the recipient’s ID and signature are stored as confirmation that delivery has taken place in accordance with regulations.

Aera:
If you are a Trump member, you can save payment card information for faster trading. This means that the card number and expiry date, as well as Trump member ID and an Aera customer ID are stored with our payment provider Aera. MENU Online store uses Trump member ID as identifier when a customer is to use a stored payment card. Aera meets strict security requirements and is PCI DSS certified. You as a customer can delete any stored cards yourself.

c. How MENY AS uses your information

We process your information to carry out an agreement on purchase, payment and delivery. When the order is placed, card information is processed to verify the payment. A reservation is made of the estimated amount on your card. Once the goods have been picked and the goods calculated, the card is charged with the actual amount.

If you are logged in as a Trump member, your contact information, bonus points, frequently purchased items, orders placed in the online store up to 12 months back, your coupons, and any future purchases if you have entered such are displayed. If you as a Trump member have said yes to customized services (profiling), we will be able to adapt the shopping experience to you.

If we discover that goods must be withdrawn, for example for health and safety reasons, it may be necessary for us to contact you. Then we use your contact information combined with purchase information. In serious cases, we may be required by law to do so. In less serious cases, it is in our interest to provide such information to provide good customer service.

d. Storage

We store information in order to deliver in accordance with the agreement. Receipts are stored for five years in line with requirements from the Accounting Act. Your orders (orders) are stored for three years for analysis purposes. The information is then anonymised, for further use in analysis.

If you request to have your information deleted from MENU Nettbutikk, we must still keep purchase transactions in accordance with the requirements of the Accounting Act.

e. Extraditions

MENU is a Trump partner. When you log in with Trump, Trump provides contact information, frequently purchased items and any benefits to the MENU to simplify registration and the user experience. In order for you to save the Trump bonus on your purchase, the purchase transaction is handed out from MENU to Trump. The disclosures are regulated in an agreement, and the parties each have a processing responsibility for the information received.

Ordered goods

 

As a customer, you can order items that are not in the store’s range. In order to be able to deliver these items, your order will be handed out to the supplier.

MENU may be legally obliged to disclose your personal information to public authorities. MENU does not provide personal information to others, unless there is a legal basis for this.

4. Online shopping for business
a. The purpose of the processing of personal data.

MENU Online store is available via meny.no for private individuals who shop on behalf of a company. In order to receive orders and deliver goods, MENU must process information about you. MENU also processes personal data to meet statutory requirements.

We can send you newsletters and marketing, provided you have agreed to it. Communication and offers can be adapted to you. We make simple adaptations based on our legitimate interest in being relevant to you. It can be offers for products you have bought before, or information relevant to where you live. More advanced customization requires your consent. An example is marketing products you have not purchased before, because your purchase history may indicate this.

We also process personal data to meet legal requirements, such as the Accounting Act’s requirements for storing purchase transactions for five years. Unidentified personal information can be used for analysis purposes, to optimize store operations and improve the user experience.

b. What information is collected

When you create a user account, you register your own personal information: name, e-mail, and mobile phone. In addition, the delivery address, the company’s organization number and department (optional) are registered. Using the organization number, the company name and address are obtained from the Brønnøysund Register. If you have NorgesGruppen’s business card, you can enter the card number, and then the company’s organization number, name and contact information will be retrieved from the business card customer register.

The information is necessary to carry out a purchase agreement. You can not change the organization number when this is filled in. Other automatically read information about the company can be edited.

When you place an order, your purchase is stored with name, delivery address, delivery time and method of delivery. A reservation is made of the estimated amount on your card. Once the items have been picked and the weight calculated, your card will be charged with the actual amount.

Upon delivery at the door or delivery of goods in the store, the recipient’s signature is stored. If you have age-specific items in the order, the performed check is stored. For alcohol, the age of the recipient is stored, and the recipient’s ID and signature are stored as confirmation that delivery has taken place in accordance with regulations.

c. How MENU uses the personal information

We process personal data to carry out an agreement on purchase, payment and delivery. When purchasing with a card, card information is processed in order to be able to verify the payment. Your consents, previous purchases and planned orders are stored in order to manage the customer relationship.

If you have agreed to the marketing, we can send you a newsletter by e-mail / SMS. If you have consented to profiling, your purchase history and shopping cart are used for customized communication, for example through product proposals during the trade or as marketing of offers and customization of the service in general.

d. Storage

Purchase transactions are stored for five years in accordance with requirements from the Accounting Act. Otherwise, information is stored in order to deliver the service. When the purpose is no longer present, the information is deleted. If you request that a user account be deleted, we must still keep the purchase history in accordance with the requirements of the Accounting Act.

e. Extradition

When you use your login (username and password) to shop at other online stores for companies in NorgesGruppen, contact information is provided between the online stores. Purchase history is not disclosed. The parties have independent processing responsibility for disclosed information.

 

5. MENU Handleapp
For the communication to Trump members, Trump and MENU have joint processing responsibility: Trump is responsible for personal information and processing basis, while MENU is responsible for the content.

You can log in with Trump on the app. Then you are logged in for one year as long as you do not actively log out. If you are logged in, Trump displays, through technical interfaces, relevant member information such as bonus balance, coupons and contact information.

As a logged in user of MENU Handleapp and meny.no, you get the opportunity to create, change and delete your own shopping lists. In order for us to be able to present your lists to you, we must store these together with an identifier that links you to the shopping lists. In addition, we give you the opportunity to mark recipes as favorite recipes. For the same reason as for shopping lists, we need to store which recipes you have marked as favorites, along with an identifier about you. The purpose is to create a better experience when you use meny.no and our shopping app.

You can consent to push notifications. This will create a key that can identify your app, and so that we can log your use of push notifications. You will only receive the alerts when you are logged in. The alerts and use of push statistics are customized to the choices you have made for your Trump membership. You can withdraw your consent in the app’s settings at any time. If you say no to push notifications in the phone’s settings, this overrides the settings in the app, and you will not receive push notifications through the MENU Shopping app. Read more about privacy in connection with notifications in the MENU app, and how you can withdraw your consent to notifications here.

6. Google Assistant – MENU Assistant
To use the voice-activated MENU Assistant, you must have a Google Account. For the personal information associated with this account, Google is responsible for processing, and your voice instructions to the MENU Assistant are stored in accordance with settings in your Google Account. At Google’s  privacy pages , you can read more about how to customize the storage of voice recordings from Google Assistant.

You must log in with Trump to activate the voice-controlled MENU Assistant. When you sign in, Trump shares a key with Google so you do not have to sign in every time you use the MENU Assistant. Your login is valid for 365 days. You can at any time break the link between Google and your Trump login, see description for using the MENU Assistant.

Please note that Google will NOT access your Trump membership information or purchase information. Google also does not have access to the shopping list itself, but will store what is read out and your voice instructions.

7. The website www.meny.no
As a Trump partner, MENU can customize the web pages for you who are logged in according to your Trump settings. The purpose is to give you a better user experience and understanding of the benefits MENU can give you as a Trump partner. For logged-in customers, we show Trump bonus balance, profile and MENU-related information using technical interfaces. You will remain logged in for 365 days if you do not actively log out. You have access to your Trump account, but if you need to change account settings in Trump, a new login is generally required if more than 24 hours have passed since you logged in.

As a logged in user of MENU Handleapp and meny.no, you get the opportunity to create, change and delete your own shopping lists. In order for us to be able to present your lists to you, we must store these together with an identifier that links you to the shopping lists. In addition, we give you the opportunity to mark recipes as favorite recipes. For the same reason as for shopping lists, we need to store which recipes you have marked as favorites, along with an identifier about you. The purpose is to create a better experience when you use meny.no and our shopping app.

If you submit an inquiry to us, we process contact information, the information you provide and information necessary to provide you with an answer. Inquiries are normally deleted after 18 months.

Logs from website activity are stored to detect error situations and abuse, so that we can identify causes and make improvements. It is in our and your interest that the websites function satisfactorily and that security is maintained.

MENU uses Google Analytics and Hotjar for analysis and statistics from website activity. The tools read, among other things. visitors’ IP addresses, but the addresses are anonymized before storage and use in MENU reports. The treatment is based on MENU’s interest in having well-functioning websites.

8. Social media – Facebook and Instagram
MENU has a company page on Facebook. There, Facebook users can leave comments, and we can launch campaigns and contests. When you visit the site, personal information about you may be processed. If your post appears to be an inquiry, MENU customer service will give you feedback. From time to time, MENU publishes competitions where a winner is to be chosen, and we will also have to process personal information about you for this. We have access to statistics and systematized overviews of posts on the page through standard Facebook tools. We do not use information from your posts for purposes other than answering, naming a winner or other treatment that appears from the activity on the site. If you send us a message via Facebook Messenger that contains personal information, this will be stored in your Messenger history and in MENU’s Messenger history. Please note that as a Facebook user and Instagram user, you must comply with Facebook’s and Instagram’s terms and privacy policy when you visit our websites and, for example, post. We encourage you to read these terms carefully.

MENU also has an Instagram profile that is used for marketing. We do not process personal data when using this profile, other than if you as a user send MENU an instant message. If you enter personal information there, this will remain in the chat function in Instagram, both on your account and MENU’s account.

9. Who does MENU provide personal information to
MENU provides purchase information to Trump so that Trump members will receive a Trump bonus.

If you have created an account to shop as a private person on behalf of a company, you can also use the login for other Online Store for business services in NorgesGruppen. Then MENU provides the contact information for the new online store, so that you do not have to register it again

MENU can hand over personal information to public authorities and possibly others if there is a basis for processing. This may, for example, be at the request of the police.

10. Who processes personal data on behalf of MENU
MENU uses the following data processors:

NorgesGruppen Data, for operation of the MENU Shopping App, websites and underlying computer systems. NorgesGruppen Data has data processors in India and the USA, while the data itself is stored in Norway. To ensure an adequate level of protection, standard privacy provisions adopted by the European Commission are used
Sylinder AS, for analysis, e-mail etc.
Nets and Aera for payment services.
ZoopIT for IT used for delivery of goods ordered through an online store.
Different carriers to deliver online orders depending on where you live.
Google (Optimize and Analytics) for tests of different versions of the website and analysis of traffic on meny.no and on the MENU Handleapp.
Hotjar, for analysis of usage patterns on meny.no.
11. Your rights
You have the right to demand access, correction of incorrect personal data or deletion of personal data we process about you. You have the right to demand limitation of the processing and may, under certain conditions, demand that your personal data be transferred to yourself or another data controller (data portability).

You can withdraw your consent at any time. A withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of a treatment that was based on consent before the consent was withdrawn.

If you wish to exercise your rights vis-à-vis MENU, you can contact customer service at website@meny.no . If the inquiry concerns the Trump membership, contact kundeservice@trumf.no . We respond to your inquiry as soon as possible, and no later than within 30 days.

12. Complaints
If you believe that MENY’s processing of personal data is in violation of privacy legislation, you can use the contact form at www.MENY.no – mark the inquiry with Privacy.

If you are a Trump member, you can also complain to Trump’s privacy ombudsman at personvernombud@trumf.no .

Complaints can also be directed to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. You can find contact information for the Norwegian Data Protection Authority here .
